ZimVie, Zimmer Biomet's recently formed dental and spine spinoff company, reported $469 million in dental revenue for 2021.
Six notes:
1.The company brought in just over $1 billion in total third-party revenue, which includes $469 million for its dental business and $540 million in spine revenue.
2. The revenue of its combined dental and spine business was a 12.5 percent increase from 2020.
3. Its dental revenue increased by $100.7 million, or 27.4 percent, which ZimVie said was primarily caused by the increased procedure volume following fewer COVID-19 restrictions and increased demand for its dental products.
4. ZimVie saw an operating loss of $100.5 million for 2021, a 54.9 percent decrease compared to 2020.
5. The company also experienced a net loss of $95.3 million during 2021, a 46.8 percent decrease from 2020.
6. The Warsaw, Ind.-based company announced its plans to create the spinoff in February 2021 and appointed Vafa Jamali as CEO.
