Oral-B has launched an electric toothbrush that uses artificial intelligence to guide users.
The iO10 toothbrush comes with the company's iOSens device that provides users with a personalized experience by using a timer to guide patients when brushing, a light to ensure all areas of the mouth are brushed and an app that tracks users' goals and offers feedback, the oral care product manufacturer said Feb. 28. The device also acts as a charger for the toothbrush.
The company said in a six-month clinical study, the iO10 was shown to improve gum health in 96 percent of patients, and it removed 62 percent more plaque along the gumline and 26 percent more plaque in hard-to-reach areas compared to a competing smart toothbrush.
