Grants Pass, Ore.-based Rogue Community College received accreditation from the Commission on Dental Accreditation for its new dental hygiene program.
The two-year associate degree program allows up to six courses from the school's dental assistant certificate program to transfer to the dental hygiene program, according to an Aug. 22 news release from the college.
The curriculum of the new program focuses on skills including evidence-based practice, relationship-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration and teaching, delegation, leadership, and supervision of caregivers, according to the school's website.
The accreditation review process included an application and a two-day site visit, the release said.
