California has the most active general dentists of any state, while Wyoming has the fewest, according to a ranking Kaiser Family Foundation released Feb. 7.
The ranking is based on information from Redi-Data on the amount of professionally active dentists by specialty field in the U.S. as of January. Population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau.
In total, there are 146,312 active dentists in the U.S., down from 150,325 in September 2021.
