NADP awards 3 grants to improve access to oral healthcare

The National Association of Dental Plans Foundation recently awarded grants to three organizations dedicated to improving access to oral healthcare.

The organizations that received grants are Charm Economics, The Children’s Oral Health Network of Maine and Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego, according to a Jan. 23 news release.

The three organizations were selected out of 19 applicants based on the potential impact of their proposals, as well as the projects' cost-effectiveness and alignment with the foundation’s mission.

Charm Economics will develop a white paper exploring dental benefits for retired individuals, including Medicare Advantage enrollment and the number of uninsured people. The Children’s Oral Health Network of Maine will use its grant to launch an initiative aimed at supporting parents' and caregivers' efforts in managing dental disease. Rady Children’s Hospital will begin training primary care providers on promoting oral healthcare practices, and will also conduct community outreach about the importance of oral health.
