Three DSOs that are implementing dental membership plans have seen increased production, case acceptance and patient visits, according to research from dental software company Plan Forward.
A DSO with 37 locations across nine states created a new membership plan, leading to a 260% increase in total production among plan members compared to patients that pay with cash, according to a Sept. 3 news release.
At another DSO with 27 practices, total production among members is up 170% compared to cash-pay patients. A large portion of the increase is due to the plan's focus to improve treatment acceptance, which has led to a 1.9 times increase in restorative care.
A DSO that aimed to boost patient visits with its membership plan resulted in members visiting five times per year compared to cash-pay patients visiting twice yearly.
The research demonstrates the variety of benefits that DSOs can gain from using dental membership plans, Jane Levy, co-CEO of Plan Forward said in the release.
