Pennsylvania benefits provider to expand dental coverage

The Pennsylvania Employee Benefit Trust Fund is expanding dental network coverage and introducing additional benefits for its members.

The fund's network of dentists, which is provided by United Concordia, is expanding to include an additional 1,022 dentists in Pennsylvania, according to a June 12 news release.

Dental benefits are also being upgraded by the fund, including an increase of the annual plan maximum from $1,500 to $2,000, excluding preventive and diagnostic dental services from the annual plan maximum, increasing the orthodontic lifetime maximum from $1,750 to $2,250 and adding dental implant coverage at 60% plan allowance.

The network expansion is effective Aug. 1, 2024, and the changes to dental benefits will be effective Jan. 1, 2025.

The PEBTF administers benefits to approximately 68,000 Pennsylvania employees and their dependents, the release said.
