Sen. Maggie Hassan and Sen. Roger Marshall introduced legislation that would provide more affordable dental care options in states that do not have a state-run health insurance marketplace.
Currently, the federal health insurance marketplace does not offer dental plans without also purchasing health insurance, according to a Sept. 12 news release from Ms. Hassan's office.
The proposed bill would allow consumers in states without a state-run marketplace to purchase standalone dental plans.
If passed, the bipartisan bill would help expand access to care and improve the oral and overall health of Americans, the release said.
