10 dental payer updates

Here are 10 dental payer updates Becker's has reported on since Nov. 16:

1. Medical technology company Vivos Therapeutics is partnering with Nexus Dental Systems to create a comprehensive medical billing service for the industry.

2. Insurer Northeast Delta Dental will provide $6 million in funding over three years for dental student loan repayments.

3. Nevada state Sen. Heidi Seevers Gansert filed a bill that would require dental insurers in the state to spend premium dollars on patient dental care.

4. A law to regulate dental payer spending in Massachusetts was signed into law after being approved by voters in November.

5. Eighty-three percent of dentists indicated they support requiring dental plans in their state to spend a percentage of premiums they collect on dental care for subscribers, according to a poll by the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.
