The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation awarded the Wentworth-Douglass Foundation $21,000 to support the Wentworth-Douglass Community Dental Center in Dover, N.H.
The dental center provides care to families with income levels at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty level. Services include cleanings, exams, X-rays, fillings, night guards, crowns, emergency visits, dentures and extractions.The grant will help the center cover expenses such as personal protective equipment, infection control, dental instruments, supplies, X-Rays and digital imaging.
The center is anticipating a higher demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has increased the number of people who need help accessing dental care. They have already seen a higher number of referrals from multiple sources.
The Wentworth-Douglass Community Dental Center and Wentworth-Douglass Foundation are subsidiaries of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, a nonprofit charitable healthcare organization in Dover consisting of 480 physicians.
