Question: What are you most excited about when it comes to launching your center?
Dr. Elfatih Eisa: I am excited about being a part of a center with a great team where I can integrate cutting-edge technology and techniques that I learned through all my years of practicing dentistry to provide the highest level of care for my patients. This new center is strategically located in Edwardsville, Ill., to reach a diverse group of patients, including those without access to specialized care. Being able to offer advanced treatments in prosthodontics and orofacial pain means I can fill a critical gap in care and bring relief and improved quality of life to a broader community. Ultimately, leading this center allows me to combine my passion for patient care with the vision of creating a practice that prioritizes both clinical excellence and compassionate service.
Q: What inspired you to want to lead this new center?
EE: What inspired me to lead this new center is a passion that is deeply rooted in me for helping people. Over the years, I’ve developed specialized skills in implant dentistry and managing complex cases related to TMJ and orofacial pain, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to know I can make a real difference in the lives of my patients. The ability to restore not only function but also confidence through these treatments drives me every day. Watching my mentors, who have been able to extend their expertise and compassion to patients in need, has been a significant source of inspiration. Their commitment to improving patient care has shown me the true impact of what it means to lead a practice with purpose and dedication.
Q: What are some goals you have for the center over the next few months?
EE: One of my main goals over the next few months is to transform the lives of hundreds of patients by giving them the confidence and function of a new smile they can truly be proud of. I want to help patients start the new year with a fresh outlook, enabling them to pursue their personal and professional goals, whether it’s landing a new job, feeling more confident in social settings, being able to eat, or simply enjoying life without the discomfort or self-consciousness that dental issues can cause. I aim to create smiles that empower my patients to face the world with renewed self-esteem and the ability to embrace opportunities they may have once felt out of reach.
Q: What strategies do you have in place to offer enhanced patient care?
EE: To offer enhanced patient care, I plan to combine my extensive clinical experience with the advanced education I’ve gained throughout my training in prosthodontics and orofacial pain, ensuring a comprehensive approach to each case. Additionally, leveraging cutting-edge resources and support will allow me to streamline treatments and use the latest innovations in implant dentistry. My goal is to deliver care that’s not only high-quality but also efficient and patient-focused, creating a seamless experience that addresses both the functional and aesthetic needs of my patients while prioritizing their comfort and satisfaction throughout their treatment journey.
Q: How do you see the future of dental implants and orofacial pain treatment evolving in the near future?
EE: The future of dental implants and orofacial pain treatment is incredibly promising as dentistry continues to evolve with new research and innovations. In the field of dental implants, I foresee significant advancements in technology that will streamline treatment protocols, making procedures more efficient and predictable while reducing overall treatment time for patients. This could include improvements in implant materials, regenerative techniques and digital workflows, which will enhance precision and outcomes. In orofacial pain management, I believe we will see the development of new, evidence-based therapies that can more effectively address even the most refractory conditions, providing relief to patients who previously had limited treatment options. With continuous advancements in both fields, I expect to see a more personalized, multidisciplinary approach to care that not only improves clinical outcomes but also enhances the patient experience.
Q: Are there any trends that you're following in the dental industry currently?
EE: I'm particularly fascinated with the potential of [artificial intelligence] in dentistry, as it is rapidly transforming many aspects of the industry. From enhancing diagnostic accuracy to improving treatment planning, AI has the potential to revolutionize how we approach patient care. In implant dentistry, for example, AI can assist with precision in digital workflows, allowing for more accurate implant placement and reducing human error. Additionally, in orofacial pain treatment, AI could be used to analyze patient data more effectively, helping to identify patterns and tailor individualized treatments. As the technology evolves, I'm eager to see how AI will further integrate into daily practice, optimizing outcomes and potentially streamlining complex and routine procedures in ways we haven’t yet imagined.
