Several dental companies have appointed new COOs this year.
Nine COO appointments from this year, starting with the most recent:
1. Atlanta-based D4C Dental Brands appointed John Williamson COO in early October. He previously served as chief of staff for senior care organization NaviHealth, where he coordinated initiatives to serve more than 10 million Medicare Advantage members.
2. Dental laser company Biolase promoted Steven Sandor to chief operating officer in July. He has served in several roles since joining the company in 2019, with his previous role being senior director of commercial operations and service.
3. DentalHQ added Kendra Hunter as COO in April. She is experienced in driving strategic innovation at software-as-a-service companies and managing product and customer success.
4. Delta Dental of Colorado selected Kelli Ogunsanya to be its next COO in April. She previously served as COO for Stride Community Health Care.
5. Florham Park, N.J.-based Select Dental Management appointed Joe Malzone COO in April. He previously held leadership roles at two subsidiaries of Chicago-based Aspen Group, including vice president of operations at WellNow Urgent Care and director of new office development at Aspen Dental.
6. The American Dental Association promoted Robert Quashie to COO in March. He was previously the ADA's senior vice president of operations.
7. Dental technology company BioDental appointed Mark Thorne president and COO after rebranding as Cayster in February.
8. Bilal Bazzi was named Tend's first COO in January. Mr. Bazzi previously worked at Banfield Pet Hospital as vice president of veterinary transformation.
9. Lance Shopovick, former senior vice president of Chicago-based DSO Aspen Dental, joined Elite Dental Partners as president and COO in January.
