At Dental Care Alliance, we are proud to celebrate the contributions of the women who shape the future of dentistry. This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting Tracy Pham, Senior Human Resource Business Partner, Field Operations, a dedicated leader who has spent the past eight years advocating for inclusivity, leadership development, and a stronger, more equitable workplace for women in dentistry.

A Journey Rooted in Empowerment

Tracy’s career in healthcare began in hospital and long-term care settings before she transitioned to DCA. What started as an opportunity to apply her skills and grow professionally soon became a mission to uplift others. “As I gained experience, I recognized the need to empower and support women,” Tracy shares. “Today, I actively advocate for leadership opportunities for women and work to create an inclusive environment where female voices are heard and valued.”

Driving Change at DCA

One of Tracy’s proudest contributions is her work in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. As an active member of DCA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council, she introduced a medical cultural competency guide to help teams navigate cultural differences and enhance patient care. Additionally, she has focused on strengthening employee relations across multiple locations, ensuring open communication, proactive conflict resolution, and leadership development.

Overcoming Challenges in Leadership

Like many women in leadership, Tracy has faced obstacles - including unconscious biases and the challenge of making her voice heard. “Early on, I felt the need to over-justify my decisions,” she recalls. “I leaned into mentorship from successful women leaders and created spaces where all perspectives are valued.”

Advice for Future Women Leaders

Tracy encourages women to advocate for themselves. “Embrace new opportunities, share your ideas, and challenge traditional expectations when necessary. Lead with confidence and support the women around you -mentorship creates a lifetime of change.”

The Future of Women in Dentistry

With more women entering dentistry and rising in leadership, Tracy sees an industry that is evolving for the better. “Women are reshaping patient care and workplace culture, advocating for flexible scheduling, family-centric policies, and inclusivity. To continue this progress, organizations must ensure women have a seat at the table in leadership discussions, advisory roles, and practice ownership.”

A Leadership Style Built on Experience

Tracy credits her leadership style to both inspiring mentors and challenging experiences. “I once worked under a toxic leader, and I saw firsthand how poor communication and a lack of support can demotivate a team. That experience shaped my approach - I prioritize transparency, trust, and engagement.”

Tracy’s journey is a testament to the power of mentorship, advocacy, and resilience. Her work at DCA is not only shaping the future of dentistry but also paving the way for the next generation of women leaders.
