Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health reached the 1,000-practice milestone by opening a practice in Charleston, N.C.
The practice, Dentists of West Ashley, is led by William Behlke, DMD, and Dexter Mattox, DDS, according to its website.
The organization also marked its 30th anniversary in June, as Stephen Thorne founded the company June 9, 1994, according to a June 25 news release.
Here are some of the notable accomplishments that PDS Health has achieved in the past 30 years:
- Recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. 14 separate times.
- The first DSO to implement Epic's electronic health records system into its supported practices.
- Developed integrated medical-dental practices. Its collaboration with MemorialCare Health System was the first-of-its-kind partnership between a national DSO and a regional health system.
- Provided more than 650,000 hours of volunteer time and donated more than $117 million in dental care.
- Launched the PDS University – Institute of Dentistry.
