Several organizations supporting dental and medical organizations have launched in recent years as consolidation efforts continue in the healthcare industry.
Additionally, some of these organizations have invested in opening medical-dental integrated offices to advance integrated care.
Here are four medical-dental MSOs to know:
PDS Health (Henderson, Nev.)
Pacific Dental Services recently transformed into PDS Health, a comprehensive healthcare support organization, and is building on its origins as a dental support organization to improve patient care and further advance dental-medical integration.
PDS previously accomplished milestones in dental-medical integration, including the implementation of Epic across all of its dental practices. It also opened multiple co-located dental and medical practices in Las Vegas and entered a joint venture with MemorialCare to open co-located oral health and primary care practices in California.
PDS Health supports more than 4,600 clinicians across nearly 1,000 practices in 24 states, the release said.
The Aspen Group (Chicago)
Chicago-based Aspen Dental Management rebranded as the Aspen Group in December 2021 to reflect its expansion in the healthcare industry. In addition to operating one of the largest dental companies in the U.S., the company added dental implant, urgent care and medical aesthetic companies under its umbrella. Its brands include Aspen Dental, ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers, AZPetVet, WellNow Urgent Care and Chapter Aesthetic Studio.
The Aspen Group supports more than 1,100 locations in 45 states.
Abra Health (Roseland, N.J.)
Abra Health was founded in 2008 and comprises several dental clinics, primary care offices and surgical centers throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The organization has opened several co-located dental and pediatric primary care facilities in recent years.
Sonrava Health (Coppell, Texas)
Sonrava Health supports nearly 600 locations in 21 states across its affiliate brands, including Western Dental & Orthodontics, Brident Dental & Orthodontics, MIB Benefit Plans, LooksBrite Optometry Center, EyeMax Vision Plan and DentalWorks, the release said.
The organization has opened several co-located Western Dental and LooksBrite Eye Centers in California.
