The Georgia Dental Association has stepped in to offer relief to dentists, dental students and the public in response to Hurricane Helene, according to an Oct. 18 news release.
Here are four things to know:
1. The organization provided $8,500 to the Dental College of Georgia to assist students with housing and other basic needs.
2. It is offering dentists in the state who were affected by the hurricane grants to help with the recovery of their dental practices and homes.
3. The organization distributed more than 1,700 dental hygiene kits in areas hit by the hurricane.
4. The MDS Foundation, the charitable arm of the Massachusetts Dental Association, donated $15,000 to the Georgia Dental Association Foundation.
