Dental offices in Florida are closing ahead of the second hurricane to hit the state in less than two weeks.
Seven notes:
1. Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall Oct. 9 as a Category 3 hurricane on Florida’s Gulf Coast, CNN reported Oct. 8.
2. The National Weather Service has said the hurricane could be the worst storm to impact the Tampa, Fla., area in over 100 years.
3. Business and residents in the region are still recovering after Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane Sept. 26.
4. Several dental offices began announcing their closures online this week in preparation for the storm's landfall.
5. Fernandina Beach, Fla.-based Amelia Dental Group said it would close on the afternoon of Oct. 9 and would remain closed through Oct. 10.
6. Dental Associates of Florida, a multi-office practice in the state, announced that several of its offices would be closing.
7. Fort Meade (Fla.) Dental said its office would be closed Oct. 9 and Oct. 10, adding that the safety of staff and patients is its "utmost priority."
