Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Wash., held a grand opening for its dental school, according to a Sept. 27 report by Apple Valley News Now.
The Delta Dental Equity Hall, where the dental school is based, is 30,000 square feet and includes classrooms and workspaces.
The dental school will accept 36 students each year, who will complete one year of on-campus training followed by three years of on-the-job training at a health center in Tacoma, Kennewick, or Yakima, Wash.
In October 2023, the university received $12 million in grant funding from Delta Dental of Washington for the dental school.
The opening marks the state's second dental school, the report said.
