The High Point (N.C.) University Workman School of Dental Medicine recently welcomed its first class of students.
The first class is made up of 60 DMD students who were selected out of approximately 1,500 applicants, according to a Sept. 13 news release.
The students are operating out of a temporary location as the university constructs a three-story, 77,500-square-foot building for its dental school. The building is scheduled to open next summer.
This is the third dental school in the state and the first among private schools.
