Des Moines (Iowa) Area Community College is set to construct a new building for its dental hygiene and assisting programs, according to an Aug. 12 report by Iowa Capital Dispatch.
The college's dental programs were in danger of losing accreditation last fall due to concerns with its current building. In February, the programs earned accreditation renewal with the condition of the school building a new space.
The school's timeline for the new clinic begins with construction starting in September 2025 and finishing in summer 2027.
The clinic will be 24,000 square feet and will cost an estimated $17 million, the report said.
