A West Virginia dentist was recently arrested and charged with hiding a surveillance camera in his practice's staff-only bathroom, WTRF.com reported Aug. 12.
An employee with Crow Dental Associates in Weirton, W.V., reportedly told police she found a surveillance camera hidden inside of a water bottle in the staff bathroom in May. Police said they spoke with at least 10 female employees who said they saw the same water bottle device in the bathroom.
Police said there is currently no evidence that any surveillance cameras were placed in the practice's public bathroom.
Jeremy Crow, DDS, turned himself into the Weirton Police Department Aug. 12 and was charged with 39 misdemeanor counts of criminal invasion of privacy. He was released on $20,000 bond.
Dr. Crow faces up to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine for each count if he is found guilty.
Robert McCoid, an attorney representing Dr. Crow, sent this statement to WTRF:
"Upon reviewing the criminal complaints charging Dr. Crow with misdemeanor offenses, we have concluded that the government’s case is thin soup at best. We are eager to test the prosecution’s evidence in the courtroom and look forward to his acquittal before a jury of his peers. In the meantime, Dr. Crow will continue as usual to provide the top-flight dental care to his patients that they have grown to expect and appreciate."
