Roseburg, Ore.-based Sutton Dental Arts provided a notice of a recent data breach.
In April, the practice became aware of certain computer systems that were inaccessible due to malicious file encryption, according to a July 23 news release.
Through an investigation launched by Sutton Dental, it was determined that an unknown actor gained access to certain systems and files.
The files were related to personal health information. Sutton Dental recently completed a review of the contents of the impacted systems to determine what types of information may have been accessed in the files.
At this time, Sutton Dental has not received any reports of fraud or misuse as a result of the breach, the release said.
