The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry opened a dental clinic providing free care to veterans who do not have dental benefits, according to a July 21 report by Lincoln Star Journal.
Veterans who are enrolled in the VA healthcare system but are not eligible for dental benefits and receive their primary care at the VA clinic in Lincoln, Neb., can get care at the new clinic.
The VETSmile Dental Clinic is led by Gerald Kugel, DMD, PhD, the dental school dean, and Gregory Bennett, DMD, an associate professor.
The clinic opened July 19, the report said.
