A dentist in Chesapeake, Va., had his dental license revoked by the Virginia Board of Dentistry for the second time, according to a June 12 report byCBS affiliate WTKR.
Derrick Broadaway, DDS, had his license to practice dentistry in Virginia revoked in May, as the board called him a "a danger to the health and welfare of his patients and the public."
Dr. Broadaway previously had his license revoked in 2014, which was overturned by the board in 2019.
In March 2021, the board suspended Dr. Broadaway's license, citing claims of "negligent and dangerous care" and "deceptive billing practices".
According to the board's public records, more than 50 patients have confirmed complaints about Dr. Broadaway since 2002.
Dr. Broadaway can seek reinstatement of his license after three years. In order to be reinstated, three-fourths of the dental board would have to approve it, the report said.
