California dentist to pay $200K+ to resolve billing fraud allegations

A California dentist will pay more than $200,000 to resolve allegations of billing insurance companies for services not provided, contracting without a license and failing to pay worker’s compensation insurance.

Ayman Adeeb, DDS, will pay $200,000 for allegedly violating Business and Professions Code section 17200. He will also pay a $10,000 penalty for allegedly violating the state's worker’s compensation insurance mandate, as well as $23,000 in restitution to Anthem and $5,830 to Humana.

The case resolutions were announced in a June 3 news release from the Monterey County district attorney's office.
