A Massachusetts dental practice and its office manager were recently charged with Medicaid fraud, performing unlicensed dentistry, assault and battery.
Fritz Gabriel is the manager of Forest Hills Dental in Boston. He was charged with one count of Medicaid false claims, one count of larceny over $1,200, one count of assault and battery and one count of unlicensed practice of dentistry, according to a May 21 news release from the state Office of the Attorney General.
The dental practice was charged with one count of Medicaid false claims and one count of larceny over $1,200.
The Attorney General's office alleges that Mr. Gabriel and the dental practice billed MassHealth for services not provided as well as services performed by Mr. Gabriel, who is not a licensed dentist. They allegedly obtained approximately $245,000 as a result of these submissions, the news release said.
