A judge has sided with the decision of the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners to revoke the license of a dentist with an "extensive disciplinary history", according to a May 9 report by CBS affiliate WFMY News 2.
Andrew Kelly, DDS, who operates the Dental Center of the Carolinas, is accused of performing negligent care for at least 18 years, including lying to patients and performing sedation dentistry without a permit, according to WFMY.
Dr. Kelly's license was revoked May 1. The board's report cited multiple violations and a "lengthy and extensive disciplinary history."
The state board barred Dr. Kelly from operating his practice, which has locations in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, N.C. The decision was upheld following the judge's decision, the report said.
