Dentists who were impacted by the Change Healthcare cyberattack may be eligible for a temporary funding assistance program.
The attack, which occurred in February, has prevented many dentists from sending electronic claims and attachments to insurance companies in order to receive payment, according to an April 4 news release from the American Dental Association.
The assistance program was created to aid healthcare providers, including dentists, with short-term cash flow needs.
In addition, the hack has caused issues related to patient statements, which has forced some providers to generate paper statements and mail them out manually.
The ADA recommended that dentists communicate with their software vendors to determine when their services will be restored.
Eligibility criteria for the funding program can be found here.
