1. The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry is piloting an after-hours dental clinic to increase accessibility for patients.
2. Batesville, Ark.-based Lyon College received $15 million in federal funding to help open its planned dental school.
3. Boca Raton-based Florida Atlantic University may no longer be opening a dental school after having two sources of funding fall through.
4. New York City-based Yeshiva University has started the process of opening a dental school.
5. The University of Illinois Chicago appointed Susan Rowan, DDS, as dean of its dental school.
6. The Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine created an oral and maxillofacial radiology department.
7. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center closed its Montefiore dental center and transitioned care to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
8. Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond identified the location for its potential new dentistry center.
