The former director of operations at a dental practice in Cicero, N.Y., has been accused of stealing more than $400,000 from the practice, according to a March 26 report by syracuse.com.
Carla Fisher-Schmitt, from Clay, N.Y., is accused of making unauthorized bank transfers and purchases, bank withdrawals and credit card withdrawals, and receiving a higher wage than she earned.
According to prosecutors, Ms. Fisher-Schmitt allegedly was stealing from Cicero Dental Associates from January 2021 to October 2023. New York state police began an investigation in December.
Ms. Fisher-Schmitt is charged with felony grand larceny and faces up to seven years in prison if she is convicted, the report said.
