Delta Dental of Arizona and the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix are collaborating to provide medical students with oral health education.
The two entities will use a $850,000 investment from the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation to launch the Oral Health In Medicine Initiative for the 2024-2025 academic year, according to a Feb. 8 news release.
Delta Dental of Arizona said the initiative is aimed at advancing medical-dental integration and helping medical students communicate with dental professionals. The project will include a comprehensive curriculum that will be integrated across all four years of medical students’ training, the news release said. The program will also include classroom and hands-on training.
