Here are six federal updates Becker's has reported on since Aug. 16:
1. Several dental organizations signed a letter opposing a proposal to restructure the National Institutes of Health.
2. A new report from the National Toxicology Program concluded that higher levels of fluoride exposure are associated with lower IQ in children. Several dental organizations have reaffirmed their support for fluoride use since the report was released.
3. The American Dental Association is concerned about a proposal that would prohibit credit reporting agencies from including medical debt when running credit checks.
4. The American Dental Association formally submitted comments to CMS on the proposed physician fee schedule for 2025.
5. More than 150 trade organizations pushed for the passage of legislation that would delay the Corporate Transparency Act's filing deadline.
6. A Texas federal judge issued a nationwide injunction blocking the implementation of the Federal Trade Commission's noncompete ban.
