The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry has completed an expansion to its general dentistry clinic.
Third- and fourth-year dental students use the facility to provide general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and operative dentistry services to patients, according to a Nov. 28 news release from the school.
With the renovations, the clinic now has 116 individual operatories, allowing students to gain more experience treating patients.
In addition to adding more operatories, the clinic underwent aesthetic updates and received technological upgrades.
The clinic's services cost 50% less than those of other providers in the community, the release said.
