Marko Vujicic, PhD, chief economist and vice president of the Health Policy Institute for the American Dental Association, recently testified during a Senate meeting about the state of oral healthcare in the U.S.
He joined three other panelists to give written and spoken testimony during a meeting for the Subcommittee on Health Care of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee in Washington, D.C. The hearing was called "An Oral Health Crisis: Identifying and Addressing Health Disparities."
Mr. Vujicic's testimony focused on the state of oral healthcare in the U.S. and ways to improve treatment, according to an April 3 news release. Some of the topics covered include oral healthcare trends, the effects of poor oral health on the economy, challenges facing rural communities and considerations for policy makers.
