Median net income of orthodontists jumped 16% in 2023

The median annual net income of orthodontists and dentofacial orthopedists in private practice was $286,670 in 2023, an increase of more than $39,000 compared to 2022, according to data from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.

Income data was collected from the ADA's 2024 "Survey of Dental Practice," which surveyed 60,975 private practice dentists in the U.S. The results reflect 2023 operation statistics.
