West Coast vs. East Coast: Which region pays dental hygienists more?

Dental hygienists can earn an average of $123,510 in Washington, the highest-paying state for hygienists on the West Coast, compared to $101,140 in Maryland, the highest-paying state on the East Coast.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics updated salary data for dental jobs to reflect 2023 information on April 3. 

Here is the average annual salary for dental hygienists in states on the West Coast and East Coast:
