Dexis earned FDA clearance for the latest release of its DTX Studio Clinic, an artificial intelligence dental imaging and diagnosis software.
DTX Studio Clinic analyzes 2D dental images and marks potential areas of interest including caries, margin discrepancies, root canal defects, periapical radiolucency, bone loss and calculus, according to an April 20 news release.
With the analysis, dentists can make more accurate diagnoses and create a comprehensive treatment plan.
The product adds to the DTX Studio suite, which has other AI software including a virtual 3D tooth setup algorithm, an automated full-mouth X-ray system and automated nerve tracing.
The DTX Studio suite is used by 10,000 dental practices, the release said.
