Invisalign manufacturer Align Technology brought in $969.6 million during the second quarter of 2022, according to the company's financial report released July 27.
Five notes on the company's second quarter financial report:
1. Align Technology's second quarter total revenue was 4.1 percent less than the company earned during the second quarter of 2021.
2. The company's clear aligner revenue totaled $798.4 million, a 5.1 percent decrease year-over-year. Align said its clear aligner volume remained flat compared to the first quarter of 2022 but was down 10 percent compared to last year.
3. Align saw a .8 percent year-over-year increase in revenue from imaging systems and CAD/CAM services, totaling $171.2 million.
4. Align stated in the news release that revenues for its imaging systems and CAD/CAM services and clear aligners were unfavorably affected by foreign exchange.
5. Align Technology President and CEO Joe Hogan said the orthodontics industry continues to be affected by macroeconomic environmental factors and COVID-19 but that the company is well-positioned to withstand market conditions.
