Dental Monitoring, a digital dentistry company, filed a lawsuit against teledental platform Get-Grin with the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware alleging infringement of two of its patents.
Dental Monitoring created the methods of analyzing an image of a patient's dental arch, which allows for commercialization of teledental services in the U.S., according to a May 18 news release. The patents-in-suit are an essential part of this technology, the company said.
"Dental Monitoring brought this lawsuit to protect and stop infringement of its intellectual property, which is the result of more than eight years of pioneering work and investment in advancing teledental services and solutions," Dental Monitoring CEO and founder Dr. Philippe Salah said in the release.
A Get-Grin spokesperson, meanwhile, said in a May 18 email to Becker's: "We at Grin have independently developed amazing technology that first and foremost helps doctors and patients, putting that relationship above all. We are confident in everything we have built."
