SmileDirectClub reported declines in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 and total annual revenue, the teledentistry company said Feb. 28.
Four notes:
- SmileDirectClub reported $126 million in fourth quarter revenue, a 31.6 percent decrease compared to the fourth quarter of 2020.
- The teledentistry company reported a net loss of $95 million during the fourth quarter.
- It brought in $638 million in total 2021 revenue, a 2.9 percent decrease compared to total annual revenue made in 2020.
- The total net loss for 2021 amounted to $336 million, a decrease of $57 million compared to the total net loss of 2020.
David Katzman, CEO and chair of SmileDirectClub, said the company is optimistic about its 2022 performance with its physician partner network and celebrity collaborations. The company expects to bring in $600 to $650 million in total revenue in 2022.
