Dental companies and DSOs collaborated this year on initiatives focused on education, medical-dental integration, technology and more.
Here are 12 notable dental industry partnerships from this year:
1. The American Dental Association and the Forsyth Institute teamed up to launch a new research initiative. The ADA Forsyth Institute combines the work of the ADA Science and Research Institute and the Forsyth Institute to advance oral health through innovation and research.
2. The University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco and Stanford (Ca.) University are partnering to advance training for oral health researchers.
3. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental recently launched a three-year partnership with Florida Atlantic University Athletics. As part of the partnership, Sage Dental will have signage in arenas during football and men’s basketball home games. The DSO will also have digital and commercial assets aired across radio, television and streaming services throughout the seasons for the two sports.
4. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health will expand oral health services in New York through a strategic partnership with ProHEALTH Dental.
5. High Point (N.C.) University Workman School of Dental Medicine partnered with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center to expand oral care for patients receiving radiation or chemotherapy cancer treatment.
6. Bola AI and Peerlogic announced their partnership to expand the use of artificial intelligence at dental practices.
7. Pacific Dental Services and the Workman School of Dental Medicine at High Point (N.C.) University partnered to implement the Epic electronic health record system at the university.
8. Philadelphia-based Penn Dental Medicine and Cochrane Oral Health partnered to create the Cochrane Oral Health Collaborating Center at Penn Dental Medicine.
9. Philips Sonicare and Candid Care teamed up to improve the dental health experience for both patients and dental professionals.
10. UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry partnered with dental equipment and supply manufacturer the Straumann Group to create a digital treatment center.
11. Dentsply Sirona and the National Dental Association expanded their partnership to promote diversity and inclusion in dental education.
12. Effingham, Ill.-based DSO Heartland Dental partnered with the American Dental Hygienists’ Association to offer educational programs and events for students and professionals.
